Shout Out: Frieda Knitter

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

This week’s Shout Out comes from Wade Reh, John Forshee and the agents and staff of K-State Research and Extension River Valley District. It is being given to their colleague, Frieda Knitter.

“The agents (current and former), staff (current and former), and board of the River Valley Extension District would like to offer this Shout Out to Frieda Knitter who celebrates 50 years as the office professional for the former Clay County Extension office and current River Valley Extension District.

Following high school, Frieda attended Brown Mackie where she completed her secretarial training. Upon graduation, she was hired as the secretary for the Clay County Extension Office. With the formation of the River Valley District, Frieda continued as the financial office professional for the district where she has an impeccable record of accuracy with the district financials.

She has been an outstanding friend and coworker for the staff and boards that have come and gone over the years. Her knowledge of local history and families has been invaluable to all who have worked with her. She has touched the lives of countless 4-H families and gone above and beyond by volunteering in 4-H in addition to her normal job duties. She served as the junior leader sponsor for a number of years.

Frieda's passion for helping people, her strong work ethic, and the positive attitude she brings to work each day have made her such a valuable asset and a beloved icon of K-State Research and Extension.

Congratulations on 50 years Frieda!”

Frieda, thanks for all you have done for the people we serve, our colleagues, and K-State Research and Extension! Fifty years. Wow!

If you know of a colleague or a team of colleagues that have done something great, why not give them a Shout Out. Simply send their name and the reason for the Shout Out to (please note change) ksreshoutout@k-state.edu.
