Step 2 on the Leadership Path

Submitted by Nancy Daniels

Lead For Change

As a K-State Research and Extension professional, you are by definition a leader. Is it time to take the next step with your leadership skills? There are 3 steps on KLC’s Leadership Path; the training steps must be taken sequentially.

Last week we wrote about the step 1: "Your Leadership Edge," which helps you discover your leadership skills and push beyond your comfort zone. Once you've completed Your Leadership Edge, consider taking the next step.

Lead for Change is Step 2 on the KLC Leadership path. Lead for Change prepares you to mobilize others to deal with tough problems and seize opportunities in any context. You can deepen your skills and confidence to engage others to create or manage change and energize others to deal with problems more effectively for lasting results. This is a 4-day advanced and immersive training offered virtually or in-person in 2022, which would cost $799, if you had to pay for it. The next virtual training is April 26-29. The next in-person training is June 21-24. Register early, trainings will fill. To register, follow this link and use code KSRE2022 to register at no cost.

This year, K-State Research and Extension has 60 slots, 50% more than we've had in the past. If your office allows, we invite you to take more than one step on the leadership path. Tuition is free, but travel and books are at your office's expense.

K-State Research and Extension believes so strongly in KLC training that our Alpha Rho chapter of ESP awarded the Friend of Extension award to Kansas Leadership Center in October 2021. We encourage you to take advantage of this important resource.
