Managing the Prussic Acid Hazard in Sorghum. MF3607. Shelby M. Gruss et al. This is a new publication with authors from both Purdue and Kansas State University (Sandy Johnson, Johnathon Holman, Augustine Obour, and Robert A. Aiken). While sorghum is a valuable forage crop, sorghum species can produce prussic acid, which can be toxic to livestock. This publication discusses various approaches to lessening the risk of feeding forage sorghum.
