The National Extension Framework for Health Equity and Well-being recommends using community development strategies and health literacy programs to ensure that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. The following resources help us improve well-being for all, and achieve Healthy Kansas 2030 and Healthy People 2030 objectives.
Immunizations for Adolescents and Young Adults: On May 3; 10am-11:30am Kansas Health Institute’s (KHI) Ad Astra ECHO Series on Immunizations in Kansas is highlighting immunizations for teens and young adults. Registration is now open here. During this webinar, the recommended vaccine schedule for adolescents and young adults will be explained and approaches to integrate immunization programs into community programs will be explored. Kansas has lower than the nation’s average for HPV vaccination among adolescents. Learn about Kansas vaccination rates on the IKC (Immunize Kansas Coalition) data dashboard. Concerns about Unpasteurized Milk and the Bird Flu: Associated with recent outbreaks of Avian flu several news outlets have featured information and resources about the health risks of drinking unpasteurized milk. Here is a sample from reputable sources:

AI Risks to Children and Families: On April 3 Child Trends, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, research center based in Bethesda, Maryland, released a report and recommendations about regulating artificial intelligence to minimize risks to children and their families. Based on two Child Trends studies, three recommendations are provided with supporting resources. The report is available here.
