We are expanding the number of PLCs by two in the program area of family and consumer sciences and agriculture and natural resources. Cheryl Boyer will extend her position for another 2-year term.

Administrative expectations for the PLC role will be in addition to your current appointment, and will be compensated by additional pay ($10,000 per year). These are two-year appointments (beginning in January) with the potential for continued two-year terms. The responsibilities below can be negotiated between the PLCs in FCS and ANR to accomplish the overall responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in North Central Region program leader activities and annual director meetings.
  • Assist in screening for local unit-based agent applicants for FCS and ANR positions.
  • Work with Program Focus Teams and Transdisciplinary Team leadership to enhance programming efforts.
  • Review and approve PFT/TDT action plans, budgets, and Making a Difference reports.
  • Participate in “Programming with a Purpose” training during early career professional development.
  • Help in coordinating other internal trainings, as appropriate.
  • Participate in Extension Administration Team meetings and retreats.
  • Engage with specialists and extension program directors for professional development.
  • Participate in other program-related meetings, events and communication, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have an advanced degree and a passion for extension programming, especially in their corresponding program area (FCS or ANR). Candidates must have leadership experience, as evidenced by working with individuals, groups and co-workers; good communication and interpersonal skills; an ability to enhance teamwork and collaborative relationships across interdisciplinary groups; and an ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders.

How to Apply:

Send a letter of application that includes descriptions of your qualifications and the reasons you are interested in this position and a current resume/CV to rlpeterson@ksu.edu. Applications are due December 13.
