The National Extension Framework for Health Equity and Well-being recommends using community development strategies and health literacy programs for everyone’s health. From urban, metro, suburban, rural and frontier locations, Extension works in partnership with communities to deliver meaningful and relevant programs and initiatives to keep health closer to home. The following resources help us improve well-being for all, and achieve Healthy People 2030 objectives.
URGENT! Register now for National Measles Webinar, May 27; 3-4:30pm:
In early April, KSRE was to have participated in an Extension Foundation hosted CDC webinar with Extension colleagues from Texas and Oklahoma. Unfortunately, due to federal cuts to CDC and termination of staff, that webinar was cancelled. The Extension Foundation encourages states to use other sources of reputable information to prepare and respond to the increasing measles outbreak. As of May 12, over 1,000 cases have been reported across 31 states, and three people have died as a result of complications from the virus.

Palliative Care Online Trainings: Join KU Project ECHO for the Palliative Care 2025 ECHO, Wednesdays, June 4 - July 2, 2025; 12pm-1pm. The Palliative Care online sessions will focus on practical guidance to navigate advance care planning, goals of care, and end-of-life conversations from pediatric to geriatric care. Caregivers and health care team members are encouraged to join this no-cost ECHO to strengthen palliative care in Kansas. Register here.
Breastfeeding Coalition Conducting Virtual Regional Meetings: Join the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition and allies for the Connect the Stars regional virtual meetings throughout July. Learn about services to new mothers and infants, how best to refer families to local programs, and discuss how to connect families for local lactation, maternal health support. Register here for any of the seven regional online meetings.
