KEAFCS: Let's Shine in Knoxville, Tennessee

Submitted by Erin Tynon

KEAFCS Award Submission

September 28 - October 1~ Knoxville, TN

KEAFCS Award deadline is March 6, 2026. All awards are submitted through the NEAFCS Website under Awards and Recognition. For Team Awards, the submitting team member must be a KEAFCS member.

Have you tried something new? Put a fresh spin on a tried-and-true program? Do you have evaluation data or a success story? If so, you are ready to apply for a Program Award. Generally, applications include 2–5 pages plus attachments.

Have you written a news release, recorded a video or podcast, or managed a social media account? Then the Communication Awards are for you.

Have you been an agent for 10 years or longer? Or are you a new agent in your first five years? The Professional Development Awards may be a great fit. The New Professional Award is now for individuals in their first five years in Extension (or in their first five years as an agent if they began as a Program Assistant). The Distinguished Service Award (10 years or more) and Continuing Excellence Award (12 years or more) are judged only at the state level. Kansas can recognize only one honoree in each category. These awards must be submitted by the potential recipient, but consider encouraging a colleague who deserves recognition. Can you help them see the impact they’ve made?

Not sure where to start? For a quick overview of available awards, check out Awards at a Glance: https://neafcs.memberclicks.net/assets/documents/awards/2026/2026-NEAFCS-Awards-At-A-Glance.pdf

What’s in it for you? Recognition, increased awareness of the value of your programming, and possibly a free registration to the NEAFCS Annual Session. Details are listed in the Awards at a Glance document.

Last year, we had individuals recognized at both the Regional and National levels. Once again, we can show all of NEAFCS the good work happening in Kansas. Please reach out to me or any of the committee chairs if you have questions. Let’s help Kansas shine in Tennessee.
