Don't Lose Access: Update the Duo Mobile App by February 2

Submitted by Jennifer R Wilson

To protect your personal information, K-State uses Duo two-factor authentication. This adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a secondary device to verify your identity.

Duo is implementing a mandatory security update that requires all students, faculty, and staff to update the Duo Mobile app to version 4.85.0 or higher by February 2. To ensure continuous access to university services such as email, HRIS, KSIS and Canvas, please update your app now.

Updating on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap your profile picture.
  3. Scroll down to view pending updates, then select “Update” next to the Duo Mobile app.

Updating on an Android Device:

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap your profile icon.
  3. Select “Manage apps & devices.”
  4. Review the pending updates to locate the Duo Mobile app and select “Update.”

Your iPhone or iPad must be running iOS 16, and your Android devices must be running Android 11 or later to comply with this security update. If you have enabled automatic updates, you may already be using the latest version of the app.

If you are unable to update the Duo Mobile app or have any questions, call the IT Service Desk at 785-532-7722 or 800-865-6143, or email support@k-state.edu. IT staff will assist you with the update or discuss alternative authentication options.
