Safe and Smart in the Sun
“Slip! Slop! Slap!(R) and Wrap” is a catch phrase that the American Cancer Society uses to help you remember to protect yourself from the sun’s UV rays. These four simple words help us to remember to SLIP on a shirt, SLOP on sunscreen, SLAP on a hat, and WRAP on sunglasses to protect the eyes and sensitive skin around them. Select sunscreen with broad spectrum protection (against UVA and UVB rays) and a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30. Re-apply often.
