12th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diverse Student Leader Seminar

Submitted by Phil LeBlanc

This year will mark the 12th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diverse Student Leader Seminar hosted by the Diversity Programs Office for the College of Agriculture and the K-State MANRRS chapter. We are inviting student leaders from all areas across campus to attend the event; however we expect a strong showing from students in the College of Agriculture.

The seminar will provide students the opportunity to learn about the civil rights movement, current diversity issues, and the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dream from those who have fought and overcome cultural challenges. The event will take place in Waters Hall, Room 137, at 5:30 p.m. on January 25.

The 2016 speaker for the MLK Student leader reception is Dr. Freddie Richards, Professor in the College of Agriculture and Human Services – Prairie View A&M University. Members of MANRRS will also be present and participating in the event.
