Audit of Employees Covering a Dependent on Their Health Insurance

Submitted by Melissa Weber

The State of Kansas is conducting an audit of employees covering a dependent on their health insurance. Aon Hewitt is sending letters on behalf of the State Employee Health Plan requesting dependent documentation. This correspondence is going directly to employees. You may receive inquiries from employees in your department. Please see the below notice from the State Employee Health Plan regarding this communication.

Please be advised that the second letter to employees selected for the dependent verification audit are being mailed in the next few business days. Most likely the employees will be receiving their second letters sometime next week. In addition, Aon is sending email reminders to employees that have email addresses on account with SEHP Membership. The emails from Aon Hewitt are coming from: donotreply@plan-smart.com and have “ACTION REQUIRED - DEPENDENT ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION REMINDER” in the subject line. Please let your employees know that these are coming from Aon and are legitimate. In addition, please remind your employees that they need to send the requested documentation directly to Aon and not to upload it to MAP or send it to SEHP Membership.
