NEW! Branded e-Newsletter and Blog Templates Available

Submitted by Megan Macy

After much anticipation, I am pleased to announce the K-State Research and Extension branded e-newsletters and blogs are now available for agents and specialists to use.

These new templates will allow us to consistently brand newsletters and blogs as well as provide a better way to archive and search information from past publications when compared to the current method of posting a link to a PDF on your website.

As we work to build consistent marketing materials, I strongly encourage you to make the switch to using these branded templates.

The new WordPress template includes the K-State Research and Extension wordmark and room to describe your county, district, or statewide program name (such as Beef Tips, Walk Kansas, etc.). The new themes are more customizable than before, including space for an attractive banner. You can also use text widgets to add contact info, social media links, and more. The web team can also help custom configuration tasks that involve some HTML/CSS coding.

I still receive many requests to print newsletters in addition to distributing electronically. This new e-newsletter template is not printable, however I will be working to have a print template designed that is similarly branded for those who still wish to print and mail newsletters.

To get started using the new templates, email me, mnmacy@ksu.edu, to request an e-newsletter or blog and sign up for training via Zoom.

Available training times include:

  • Wednesday, May 18 at 3:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m.

(Depending on popularity, additional dates may be added)

You must complete the training before being given access to a template. During training, you will learn how to use the e-newsletter software to produce your communication, in addition to some tips to make your newsletter more effective.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me!
