KEAA Vote to Transition to JCEP at KEAA Business Meeting October 25

Submitted by Rebecca McFarland

Annual Conference is only two weeks away and during the KEAA (Kansas Extension Agent Association) annual business meeting we will have a short discussion and vote on transitioning to Kansas JCEP (Joint Council of Extension Professionals). The writing team has been working diligently to get a draft of the constitution and by-laws written. They are posted at http://ksjcep.org/CandBL_v10_07_16.pdf.

The KEAA board thought that it was important to provide some general information about KEAA. So, I am developing an informational sheet that will include the history, purpose, etc. of KEAA. It will be available by October 14, and will be distributed electronically to each association president and vice president. In addition, each agent association (KACAA, KEAFCS and KAE4-HA) has been asked to allow some time during their business meeting for discussion, prior to the vote.

As you arrive at the KEAA business meeting on October 25, you will need to check-in with your respective association representatives to pick up your ballot for the vote. This will ensure a more accurate count and organized process. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call 785-229-3520, or email me at rmcfarla@ksu.edu.
