Diversity Programs Office Update
The Diversity Programs Office would like to share some information about an important, upcoming event involving the office:
• This year will mark the 13th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Student Leader Seminar Reception hosted by the Diversity Programs Office for the College of Agriculture and the K-State MANRRS chapter. We are inviting student leaders from all areas across campus to attend the event, and we expect a strong showing from students in the College of Agriculture.
The seminar provides students the opportunity to learn about the civil rights movement, current diversity issues, and the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dream from those who have fought and overcome cultural challenges. The event will take place in Waters Hall, Room 137, at 5:30 p.m. on January 23.
The 2017 speaker for the MLK Student leader reception is Edward Honesty, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer of Best Harvest Bakeries. In addition to Mr. Honesty, members of MANRRS will also be present and participating in the event.
Please continue to look for more diversity news and events as we continue to advertise. We appreciate your support. For more information about upcoming events or to collaborate with the DPO, please call 785-532-5793 or contact Dr. Zelia Wiley, Interim Associate Provost of Diversity, zwiley@ksu.edu.
