Thank You
Thanks for all of the congratulations and well wishes. I am very pleased and honored to be named your next Associate Director for Cooperative Extension. Following Daryl Buchholz’s and Jim Lindquist’s exemplary service and leadership to our organization as the Associate Director for Cooperative Extension, I realize I have big shoes to fill – both figuratively and literally.
We all owe a great deal of gratitude to all of our colleagues who took the time to serve on the search and screen committee, provide behind-the-scenes logistics, and/or participated in the interview sessions. I appreciate how seriously you took your responsibility, and you all did great work.
As Extension professionals, we take our mission of providing the research, education and facilitation people desire to improve their lives, livelihoods, and communities seriously. We all want K-State Research and Extension to be an even greater Cooperative Extension institution than it is today.
To that end, if you have concerns about or recommendations for our organization in the days and years to come, I invite you to share them with me or any of the Extension Administration team. I cannot guarantee that all recommendations will be implemented as given, but I can tell you that they will be heard, analyzed and considered.
Once again, thanks for all the well wishes. I look forward to working with all of you in this new role starting August 1, 2017.
