Welcome Mary Hellmer to Extension Operations
The Extension Operations staff is excited to introduce Mary Hellmer as the new Human Capital Assistant. Mary started on June 17 and replaces Kelly Staab.
Mary is from Johnson County, KS, and graduated from K-State in the spring of 2017 with bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Modern Languages (French). She then worked for K-State’s Academic Achievement Center as the Staff Assistant for Tutoring Services (aka, Holtz Hall Tutoring Center). She's excited to continue working in university administration with KSRE! When not at work, Mary enjoys baking and cake decorating, as well as taking care of her houseplants.
As a Human Capital Assistant, Mary manages Extension agent job positions from drafting a position announcement from templates to helping on-board new hires. She can help with:
- Sharing templates for position types when a county or district has a position opening
- Drafting position announcements and creating a timeline for filling vacancies
- Placing position openings in the hiring system
- Creating advertising examples and assisting with regional and national advertising
- Managing applicant materials for open positions
- Managing the onboarding process for new hires.
