Engineering Extension to Host Energy Efficiency Expo October 2
October 2, 2019 will be the fourth national Energy Efficiency Day, but efficiency is year-round. The Kansas Governor’s Office will issue a proclamation declaring October 2 as “Kansas Energy Efficiency Day” (mirroring the National Energy Efficiency Day movement, which started in 2016). To promote this day, the Kansas Corporation Commission Energy Division and K-State Engineering Extension’s Kansas Energy Program will host a Kansas Energy Efficiency Expo on the Blue Earth Plaza, Manhattan, October 2, from 4 - 8 p.m. The Expo is targeted towards residential energy efficiency and will include several exhibitors offering services such as insulation, replacement windows, high-efficiency appliances, public transportation, to name just a few.
The evening’s events will include demonstrations, a food truck from Smokin’ Willies BBQ and live music from local musician Doug Chapman (Chappie), a 2013 inductee into Kansas Music Hall of Fame. Of course, the fountains at Blue Earth Plaza will be available for kids of all ages.
Come enjoy the festivities and learn how to increase the energy efficiency of your home and put money back into your pocket.
