MyPI Disaster Preparedness Program Offered in 2020

Submitted by Anissa Jepsen

Kansas 4-H will offer a youth preparedness and educational outreach program known as MyPI (My Preparedness Initiative) Kansas. MyPI Kansas is a component of the National Youth Preparedness Initiative, a partnership of several states delivering an innovative and engaging curriculum for teenagers.

We are currently seeking interested KSRE agents or volunteers (4-H or community) to attend a three-day training on May 6-8, 2020 at the Sedgwick County Extension office. Facilitators from MyPI National will train Kansas participants to deliver the MyPI program in their community.

MyPI is an engaged and recognized component of a nationally supported, progressive approach to preparing youth for emergencies and disasters. The MyPI National is also recognized as an Affirmer of the national strategy.

We will be holding an informational Zoom meeting for counties interested in the MyPI program on January 6, at 1:30 pm. The link is https://ksu.zoom.us/j/705843251.
