Lucky Number Seven

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

Week six was a very busy week as we had the President’s and Provost’s Town Hall, our Partnership Meeting, and the Friday Extension Update. I want to thank you for your engagement in each of those activities.

While we did hear about a disappointing economic outlook and the possibility of furloughs, you continued to be the true Extension professionals you are. You kept putting the education and research needs of the people of Kansas first. You actively engaged in our meetings. You encouraged and supported your colleagues. You developed new programs and new program delivery methods. You pursued making yourself an even better Extension professional. In short, you kept enthusiastically pursuing our Extension mission as you helped Kansans to make their lives, livelihoods, and communities better in this challenging time.

We are now at the beginning of week number seven. Seven is supposed to be a lucky number. While it can be hard to find examples of good luck in challenging times, Kansas and K-State Research and Extension are extremely lucky to have you as Extension professionals. I have always been proud of your efforts on our Extension team, and I am even prouder of how you have responded during these first seven weeks, and how you will continue to respond in this challenging time.

Take care of yourself, work hard, and thank you!
