Shout Out: Extension Professionals Who Served or Continue to Serve on the 4-H Working Groups
This week’s Shout Out comes from the Department of 4-H Youth Development and is sent to all 60 Extension professionals who served or continue to serve on the 4-H Working Groups.
Due to the challenges of COVID-19, Kansas 4-H programming efforts needed to adjust delivery methods to keep engaging youth and families in 4-H learning opportunities. Four working groups were initiated including Staff Professional Development; Club and Project Support; Fairs and Alternative Showcasing; and Camp. A call went out system wide to anyone who wanted to serve and share their skills and talents to find innovative solutions. Teams were charged with creating new or enhancing existing resources and then sharing them system wide.
Wade reminds us that “our methods are changing but our 4-H Mission remained the same.” New tools were quickly put in the hands of those who needed them to address the emerging issues. Training sessions provided guidance, offered new insights and generated thought provoking discussions. Together we will get through this. Thanks to all working group members for how you have given during this season. A HUGE Shout Out for their contributions to move positive youth development programming forward in Kansas!
4-H Working Groups, thanks for all you do for the people we serve, your colleagues, and K-State Research and Extension.
If you would like to nominate a colleague or team of colleagues for a Shout Out, please send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ghadley@ksu.edu.
