Shout Out: Marlin Bates

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

K-State Research and Extension Shawnee County's Cindy Evans forwarded me this Shout Out nomination for K-State Research and Extension Douglas County’s Marlin Bates. Cindy wrote:

“We think Marlin Bates deserves a Shout Out!

The staff from Shawnee County Extension would like to send a Shout Out to Marlin Bates for giving leadership to the Racial Justice and Inclusion workshops that recently concluded. The workshops were attended by over 200 extension professionals across the country and provided an opportunity for us to engage in meaningful dialogue to involve underserved audiences in both the processes of creating and delivering meaningful extension education.

Are we there yet? Probably not. From this training we are reminded that more needs to happen to help extension professionals be more culturally sensitive. Thanks Marlin for your leadership!”

Marlin, thanks for all you do for the people we serve, our colleagues, and K-State Research and Extension.

If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done, why not give them a Shout Out? Just send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ghadley@ksu.edu.
