Strategic Doing - ReFraming Complete!

Submitted by Jaime Menon

Hello Again Difference Makers – and Welcome to Annual Conference! I wanted to apprise you of the ReFraming exercise for our Strategic Doing Session for Wednesday, October 20.

THANK YOU to our PFT Co-Chairs for your enthusiasm about the process and using the Framing Question for your session to work through a complex issue that you face!

The Framing Questions for your PFTs are as follows:

Community Vitality, Crop Production, Family Resource Management, and Nutrition, Food Safety and Health will tackle the original Framing Question:
How do we change our business model to adjust to technology and innovation? What does your program delivery, communication, program offerings, etc. look like in the future?

Adult Development and Aging:
How does the ADA PFT target its limited capacity for outreach to best impact aging Kansans and their families?

Family and Child Development:
Imagine KSRE is seen as the "go to" organization in your program area. What does that look like?

Farm Management:
Given the anticipated economic environment of Kansas agriculture in the next 10-20 years, what skill set of technical & organizational expertise in Ag Economics & other Ag disciplines do Extension Agents need in order for them to provide effective leadership in their agricultural communities? (Closely related follow-up issue for a later session:) What areas of expertise in Ag Economics should the Farm Management PFT focus their Agent Training & Support efforts on over the next 1-3 years to be consistent with Extension Agent's longer-term skill set needs?

Horticulture:
How do we continue to make a meaningful impact across Kansas and the University?

Livestock Production:
What does the future look like for you and the livestock PFT? How will your work adapt to changes in the industry and technology and what does this look like?

Natural Resources:
What does the future look like for you and the natural resources PFT? How will your work adapt to technology and innovation? What does your program delivery, communication, program offerings, etc. look like in the future?

Youth Development:
How can we grow the capacity of the YD PFT to support PYD programming and report state-wide impact?

What a great set of relevant, important questions!!!!

Instructions on the sessions will be given during the World Café Refresh tomorrow (Wednesday, October 20).

Again, THANK YOU for your work creating a framing question to utilize to add direct value to your Strategic Doing process! Exciting times!

THANK YOU again for all of your work! -Jaime Menon, Co-Chair of the Strategic Doing Annual Conference Committee, with Debbie Kirchoff and Brian McCornack
