Every Third Friday: Applying Plain Language Standards in Extension

Submitted by Laurie Chandler

Please join us on Friday, November 19, at 1:30 p.m. for this month’s Every Third Friday Session, “Applying Plain Language Standards in Extension."

In 2010, the Legislature mandated standards for the use of Plain Language in federal communication documents. This mandate has since begun to impact other public institutions such as Kansas State University and K-State Research and Extension. Dr. Patricia Ackerman, Professor of Language Arts at K-State Salina will share information about the roles that readability analysis and Plain Language play in increasing the effectiveness of communicating information that helps users solve problems, learn about a subject, carry out a particular task or make decisions.

Zoom information was sent via calendar invite.
