Retirement Chuck Roast
Chuck Otte is a 40 year veteran of the K-State Research and Extension organization. He needs little, if any, introduction across the state as an expert in birding and bird identification. He certainly needs no introduction to the many KSRE professionals across the state as an Ag and Natural Resources agent with a wide variety of expertise.
We are going to celebrate his accomplishments, connections and commitment to Geary County and the KSRE system as a whole at a retirement celebration on Saturday, August 27, from 2 – 5 p.m. at the 4-H/Sr. Citizens building – 1025 S. Spring Valley Road, in Junction City.
The afternoon will begin with a casual come-and-go type reception at 2 p.m. and will transition to a more formal event, “The Chuck Roast,” at 4 p.m. In the style of a celebrity roast, Chuck will be seated front and center as the man of the hour with special guests being asked to share stories, plunders and puns that honor his work. Mark Ediger, a recently retired broadcast news professional and close friend to Chuck, will emcee the Chuck Roast with added humor of his own!
The Geary County K-State Research & Extension staff would like to invite colleagues, friends and family to join us in celebrating Chuck’s 40 year career in Extension and his invaluable contributions to individuals and families in Geary County and across the state.
Please dress casually, but feel free to wear Hawaiian-style attire to blend in with Chuck's retirement wardrobe! If you are unable to attend but would like to send a card, mail it to Geary County K-State Research and Extension, PO Box 28, Junction City, KS 66441.
