Host Site Applications for the 2023 KSDE Summer Intern Grant Program are Now Open

Submitted by Amy Collins

While we just finished up summer 2022, it’s already time for Extension Units interested in applying to be a Host Site for the 2023 4-H/KSDE Summer Intern Grant Program (Official name – Kansas 4-H Summer Engagement Helping Youth Discover their SPARK to Increase Learning) to fill out the host site application. An email with the Qualtrics link has been sent out to the County/District KSRE Listserv.

The application explains Host Site Roles & Responsibilities as well as definitions and roles of Program Engagement Leaders, Extension Agent(s) and Educator/Interns who will be involved in the program. The Host Site Application is due by Friday, November 18, 2022.

Educator/Intern Applications will be coming out soon. Host Sites are encouraged to recruit local teachers or college students with an interest in working with youth within their communities if you know of someone that might be interested in applying. Host Sites and 4-H State Office staff will work together to interview candidates for educator/intern positions. Applications for this position will be due by Friday, December 16, 2022. The State Office will advertise these positions, but we know that local extension units have first hand experience with community members that may be interested in applying. If you have further questions about this program, you can contact Amy Collins, acollins@ksu.edu; or Rick Peterson, rlpeterson@ksu.edu.
