Char Henton to Retire from Kansas Agricultural Mediation Services

Submitted by Rick Peterson

After more than 37 years of service to Kansas Farmers and Ranchers, Char Henton is retiring. Char has served for many years as the Mediation Coordinator for the Kansas Agricultural Mediation Services (KAMS). One of the first employees of the Farmer’s Assistance (FACTS) hotline, Char has been part of serving the agricultural community since July 1985.

Char’s primary motivation has always been to “help people” and “help farmers.” She has demonstrated her passion and dedication over and over. Throughout her career, Char has been a frontline worker answering the hotline, gathering information from producers, working the files internally, scheduling mediations and setting up informational tables as well as speaking at conferences across the state. Her knowledge of the program, mediation, and the numerous partners has been invaluable to the program.

Congratulations Char on your retirement!
