Dealing with Life on the Farm
Submitted by Sharon Erickson-Fryback
Dealing with life on the farm can be challenging and even overwhelming at times. Agents and Stess and Resiliency Team members have partnered with Action for Alex to bring a program you won't want to miss to Kinsley, Kansas on December 12, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The program will begin with Greg Peterson from the Peterson Farm Brothers. He will present on the importance of Community in Farming. Rachael Clews and Sharon Erickson-Fryback will present on Weathering the Storm.
Stress is a fact of life for farmers. Learn to identify common stressors, recognize symptoms and access practical management tools and techniques to reduce the effects of unwanted stress. The day will end with Alicia Boor and Jennifer LaSalle presenting QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer). Much like the skills we learn in CPR, QPR can save a life. You will learn skills to offer hope through positive action.
This program is completely free to attend and lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to 21 Central District Edwards County Office at 620-659-2149, or to the Gray County Extension Office at 620-682-5090, by December 5.
