In the MOOOOOD for Livestock Watering Options?

Submitted by Melissa Harvey

Extension professionals are invited to attend a special field event planned for August 22-23 in Russell, Kansas. The discussion will focus on livestock watering options and how these systems function in different situations.

The event will take place at the Dole Specter Conference Center in Russell. It will also include several field visits in Russell and Ellis Counties to see the watering systems in action.

Participants will get a chance to get a close look at a wet well, hardened crossing, portable water, solar panel systems with watering tanks, and a tire tank installation. Questions and hands-on learning will be encouraged.

The first day begins at 3:30 p.m. and lasts until dusk on August 22. Day two starts at 8 a.m. and wraps up at 4 p.m.

Dinner will be provided on August 22, and lunch will be provided on August 23. There is no charge for this event, but participants are asked to RSVP to sedgett@ksu.edu or call 785-769-3297.
