Seed to Saw Open House and Forestry Tours
Submitted by Ariel Whitely-Noll
Join the Kansas Forest Service this fall for live demonstrations of tree pruning, felling and milling, a tour of our arboretum, a visit from Smokey Bear, and educational booths and activities! Our Seed to Saw Open House will take place from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on September 30, at the Kansas Forest Service state office, 2610 Claflin Rd. Manhattan. The open house is free to the public!
In the afternoon, from 1 - 5 p.m. we will host forestry and wildfire tours. On the tours we'll visit a private property demonstrating many forestry projects, Anneberg Park and a Ft. Riley firebreak at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery. The tours will have a $15 registration fee to cover the cost of transportation.
For additional information or to register for the tour, please visit the events page of our website: https://www.kansasforests.org/events/index.html.
If your organization would like to have a free booth at the open house, or if you have any questions about either event, please email Ariel Whitely-Noll at arielw@ksu.edu.
We hope to see you there!
