Shout Out: Matthew McKernan and Jay Wisbey
This Shout Out comes from the Extension Integrated Pest Management Team: Frannie Miller, Pesticide Safety and IPM Coordinator; and Terry Roberts, Training Support Specialist, and is sent for Matthew McKernan, Sedgwick County Extension Horticulture agent; and Jay Wisbey, Central Kansas District Extension Crop Production Agent. Frannie and Terry write:
"We would like to send a Shout Out to Matthew McKernan, Sedgwick County Extension Horticulture Agent; and Jay Wisbey, Central Kansas District Extension Crop Production Agent. We’ve appreciated their assistance this fall with IPM Commercial Applicator Recertification Training.
Matthew offered his time to help with our needs in utilizing the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center. He assisted with key exchange so we could avoid an extra trip to Wichita. He also showed up at 7:30 a.m. on the day of training to ensure our technology was working appropriately. Matthew ended his day staying after hours to help put away the many tables and chairs and clean up after training had concluded.
Jay offered his attention to assisting with our Salina training. He helped secure the Saline County 4-H building when our first venue fell through and recommended great catering options for the new location. On the day of training, Jay arrived early to ensure we were all set. He located building maintenance staff to assist with wi-fi issues and also set up additional tables and chairs when unregistered participants appeared for training.
These agents’ dedication to Extension programs and generosity in assisting colleagues is commendable. Thank you, Matthew and Jay!"
Matthew and Jay, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
