Shout Out: Herschel George, Will Boyer, and Daniel Skucius
This week the Shout Out is from Margit Kaltenekker, Douglas County Extension Agriculture Agent; and is sent for KCARE Watershed Specialists - Herschel George, Will Boyer, and Daniel Skucius. Margit writes:
"I am sending a Shout Out! to the KCARE Watershed Specialists - Herschel George, Will Boyer, and Daniel Skucius, for assistance pulling together a great Livestock Water Systems Tour for eastern Kansas, (mid-April 2024).
There was a great turnout of producers and NRCS Agents, excellent demonstrations and technical knowledge shared on tire tank and solar installations, wet wells, gravity fed stock tanks, and protecting riparian zones featured in the newly released ‘Waterers and Watering Systems Handbook.’ Everyone went away with greater confidence in implementing these practices to provide cleaner water to livestock, while protecting our natural resources.
We know this work is making a significant difference in water quality, and livestock performance. Teamwork makes for light work – and I’m sure everyone agrees, we are privileged to have such, a dedicated team of State Watershed Specialists!"
Herschel, Will, and Daniel, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
