Shout Out: Deborah Kohl

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

This week the Shout Out is from Tara Markley, Johnson County Extension Director and Jennifer Brantley, Sedgwick County Extension Director; and is sent for Deborah Kohl, Community Vitality Specialist and Program Leader Coordinator. Tara and Jennifer write:

"We would like to give a well deserved shout out to Deborah Kohl. Over the past four months Deborah has continually gone above and beyond to create impact in our Extension community. Her accomplishments have not gone unnoticed! The task of training Extension and community facilitators was not only a whirlwind effort but engaging those older and new facilitators in the Delivering on the Promise facilitation efforts across the state was unprecedented. Her ability to listen to Agents in the field and translate those messages into action is refreshing and uplifting in our system. Beyond the facilitation initiative, she has jumped into supporting the K-State 105 initiative to better connect Extension programs with the university. Her interpretation to the system has provided a transparent and realistic effort we can relate to. Her ability to connect the dots and elevate our efforts for a one K-State is commendable! Personally, we appreciated her presence at the National Urban Extension Leadership conference in Nashville. She jumped in and connected with other peers across the country on how the work of Extension is effective in urban and metropolitan environments. Thank you Deborah for being present, listening and your willingness to jump in and work towards the Extension mission in our state!"

Deborah, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
