Reminder About Work Place Injuries
Submitted by Jennifer R Wilson
If a K-State employee is injured while on duty they are required to report the accident within three days. All incidents, accidents or injuries should be reported through the Electronic Incident Report.
A few reminders for work-related incidents:
- If a life-threatening emergency, seek medical treatment at the nearest emergency facility.
- Urgent (not life threatening but same day treatment needed) and non-emergency treatment must be pre-authorized by the State Self Insurance Fund. Supervisors or Human Resource Liaisons can call the State Self Insurance Fund at 785-296-2364 to request authorization.
- Supervisors will review and confirm incidents that are reported by employees.
For additional information, see the Human Resources website. If you are not sure if it is to be considered under Workers' Comp, please see this flow chart for help. If you have any further questions you can always contact Extension Operations at 785-532-5790.
If office professionals or program assistants of local extension units are injured, contact the local provider of Workers' Compensation insurance for their process of reporting claims.
