Changes in the Horticulture Resource Center

Submitted by Cheryl Boyer

I am pleased to share that Dr. Cynthia Domenghini has been appointed to a new position in the Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources (HNR) beginning June 9. Her appointment will be 100% Teaching (no Extension). Cynthia’s new responsibilities will complement the work she has been doing in Extension by creating online courses to help our place-bound stakeholders complete a degree in horticulture online through HNR. She will continue to be a valued resource to our team, but she is shifting gears to focus on undergraduate student learners. Please congratulate her at cdom@ksu.edu.

A search for a new Consumer Horticulture Specialist will open soon. In the meantime, if you are interested in the role, please contact Cheryl Boyer (crboyer@ksu.edu). Be on the lookout for more information as we move through the process. It may be August or September before we have a new Consumer Horticulture specialist onboarded to the team.

In the meantime, our HNR state specialist team is actively planning how to navigate this change so there is a limited gap in coverage. Annie Baker and I will monitor the HortSupport@ksu.edu email account to help dispatch questions to the appropriate specialist. Please continue to use that email address and give us grace as we do our best to support you. We're grateful to deliver Extension horticulture programming together with all of you!
