Shout Out: Candis Stiles and Anna Muir
This week the Shout Out is from Nora Rhoades, Post Rock District Director; and is sent for Candis Stiles, Shawnee County Director, and Anna Muir, Phillips-Rooks District Director. Nora writes:
"I want to give a shout-out to Candis Stiles and Anna Muir for applying for Epsilon Sigma Phi - Kansas Alpha Rho Endowment Board funding for innovative programming to support a valuable professional connection and growth experience this spring. They hosted Burnout to Brilliance, and I was grateful to be able to fill my cup by participating at one of the locations across the state. For me, a highlight of the experience was sharing strategies for managing time and tasks as we juggle life with numerous personal and professional responsibilities. With new technology and ever-changing community needs, along with traditional expectations, it was beneficial for me to rethink my workflow strategies so I can be my best self for my wellness, my family, and my work teams. In a room filled with early and mid-career professionals, it was great to connect about the seasons of life and work and how we can continue to thrive in a space of life satisfaction. We also addressed current issues by working through problem-solving consultations with a peer group, a strategy that I need to lean into more, as it was extremely helpful to utilize my peer network to help objectively sift through challenges. I was able to understand multiple interpretations of my situation, and I left with the confidence to try some new strategies to keep the ball rolling forward toward a win-win. Candis and Anna, thanks for giving us the space to sit with our role as extension professionals and to reflect on how valuable we are in Kansas. It was a refreshing day, with laughter, learning, and most of all, connection. I am deeply appreciative of Epsilon Sigma Phi for supporting your enthusiasm in empowering us across the state. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Candis and Anna -- thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Extension.
