Commercial Fruit and Vegetable Field Day is August 25
Kansas State University’s Olathe Horticulture Research and Extension Center (OHREC) will host its annual Commercial Fruit and Vegetable Field Day from 4:00-7:00 pm, Monday, August 25, 2025. Field Day features updates on current research projects including tomato, pepper, strawberry, and cantaloupe trials, impact of soil treatments on organic production, posters, and much more. Formal presentations will be followed by a hamburger/veggie burger cookout, featuring vegetables grown at OHREC. The evening will conclude with a recognition ceremony for 2025 Growing Growers Kansas City area apprentices and host farms.
All events are outdoors. Check-in starts at 3:30 pm, at the Center’s Research Fields, 35230 West 135th Street, Olathe, KS 66061. Pre-registration is encouraged for an accurate meal count.
