New Job Descriptions for all K-State Employees
Submitted by Division of Human Capital Services
Human Capital Services started the Rediscover Total Rewards plan back in April, and our next step is to work with you and your supervisor to write your job description.
The job descriptions will be used to find out what people do and then compare those descriptions to similar jobs outside of Kansas State University. We then will be able to determine salary ranges. We will study base pay along with other monetary benefits like paid time off, the value of healthcare and pensions to understand our competitiveness from a total rewards view.
If the data suggests that salary ranges are not competitive with the external market, we will work with Administration to identify solutions to address the problem. Solutions, however, may take time to implement as there may not be a quick fix.
Please understand the university is committed to maintaining these two job classifications per Kansas Board of Regents policy and state statute.
For more information, please plan to attend the Rediscover Total Rewards Meeting Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m., Forum Hall, K-State Student Union, to get more information about this initiative, including:
· Review the Job Analysis Questionnaire
· Ask any questions you might have about this plan
For those unable to attend in-person, the meeting will be live-streamed; please keep an eye out in the K-State Today for the link.
Schedule for the Job Analysis Questionnaire:
University Support Staff: Questionnaire sent on May 19, will be due June 9
IT Positions: Questionnaire sent on June 2, will be due June 23
Unclassified: Questionnaire sent on June 30, will be due July 21
