New Southeast Research/Extension Building in Parsons
A recent photo of the construction of a new Southeast Research/Extension building at Parsons, Kansas was taken by Lyle Lomas on May 14. The exterior of the building will be a slate grey color and the photo shows the east side which will be the main entrance and the view from the main road. The construction crew is finishing the exterior of the building and will begin the interior construction. The north (right hand) portion of the building will house 11 offices for the research faculty/staff currently located in Parsons, and for the Extension faculty/staff currently located in the Area Extension office in Chanute. The center portion will be the main entrance/lobby and the south (left hand) portion of the building will house the large meeting room that can be divided into four smaller meeting rooms. A research laboratory is also included on the west side of the building. The construction appears on schedule for a fall completion.
