Diversity Programs Office Update

The Diversity Programs Office would like to share some information about our upcoming events:
• The DPO would like to thank our guest speaker, Dr. Freddie Richards, for kicking off MLK Week at Kansas State University last night at the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diverse Student Leader Reception. This event is hosted by the Diversity Programs Office, MANRRS and was sponsored by John Deere. We would like to thank all who made the event possible and who attended.
• Dr. Zelia Wiley would like to say thank you for all the warm wishes that she has received in the past weeks concerning her new position as Interim Associate Provost of Diversity. In all the excitement and new hectic schedule, she truly appreciates the support she has in all of you as she transitions into this role.
• With February upon us, Black History Month events, hosted by the Black Student Union, are as follows:
- Tuesday, February 9 - Maggie Anderson: "My Year of Buying Black" - Alumni Center Ballroom, 7 p.m., Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, February 10 - Trailblazers of Kansas State University: “First Black Graduates Revisited” hosted by MANRRS at 6 p.m. in Waters 137.
- Soul Café ft. Tebe Zalango and “The Ministry” - K- State Union Main Ballroom, 7 p.m., Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, February 16 - Business Fashion Show hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc -Black Celebrity discussion - K-State Union Room 227, 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, February 23 - “Our Story: Black at K-State” - Hemisphere Room in Hale Library, 7 p.m.
- February 25-27 - Ebony Theatre’s “Dutchman” - New Purple Masque Theatre (East Stadium next to Alumni Center), 7:30 p.m.
