4-H Youth Program Evaluation – Letter to Parents

Submitted by Barbara Stone and Jodi Besthorn

A 4-H Youth Program Evaluation will be conducted by the Youth Development Program Focus Team beginning April 1, 2016. A letter to 4-H parents/guardians will be sent on March 28 describing the statewide evaluation and the possibility that their child/children may be asked to participate. This letter will come from Barbara Stone and will be sent through 4HOnline.

The purpose of the survey is to learn what young people are gaining from their involvement in 4-H. The 4-H members can complete the survey at a club meeting or other 4-H gathering this spring or early summer. It will also be administered at 4-H Discovery Days. The online resources needed to conduct the survey are available on the Kansas 4-H website under staff resources: http://www.kansas4-h.org/.

To learn more about the survey for your local Extension unit, please attend the zoom meeting scheduled for Friday, March 25. See the announcement below.

Please join the Youth Development PFT as they launch a new 4-H Youth Program Evaluation this spring. A survey has been developed using the 4-H Common Measures and the steps for you to administer the survey to youth 8 – 18 years of age. We need your help in order to get a good sample of our 4-H youth and what they are learning through 4-H. This data can be used in your local Extension unit to share your story as well as in statewide reports. Please join us!
