Diversity Programs Office Update

The Diversity Programs Office would like to share some information about upcoming events:
• On March 21st, the Cargill Career Fair was held at 6 p.m. in the S Ballroom in the Union. Project Impact Scholars from the Colleges of Agriculture, Engineering, and Business socialized with KSU Alumni who are employed at Cargill currently to learn about open opportunities. We thank Cargill for their continued support of our students!
• The K-State MANRRS president, Adriana Meneses, served on a student panel hosted by KS-LSAMP on Thursday, March 10, at 4 p.m. in 113 Leadership Studies Building. The panel focused on campus involvement and balancing student life with clubs and organizations. Thank you for representing us so well!
• Come by the MANRRS booth in the Quad on March 31st between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. during Ag Fest! The MANRRS booth will focus on minority contributions during this come-and-go browsing event, accompanied by other student organizations within the College of Agriculture.
• Carlos Flores successfully ran for Student Senate as a College of Agriculture representative at the end of March 2, 2016. Congratulations on your third term, Senator Flores! Kaitlyn Alanis also successfully ran for her second term in Student Senate! Congratulations on your second term, Senator Alanis!
• The KS-LSAMP is co-hosting “Network 101” with CES on March 29, from 4-5 p.m. in 127 Leadership Studies. Some topics that will be discussed are: What is networking, why it’s important, and events that can help you expand your professional network. Registration is required.
• The College of Arts and Sciences is proud to present the Student Diversity Summit on Friday, April 1, from 3-5 p.m. in the Town Hall of the Leadership Studies Building. The student-directed summit will provide a two hour event for students to learn about the diversity groups on campus, issues regarding diversity, and meet with student organizations, support program coordinators, faculty, and staff. This forum will include guest speakers from across campus, as well as a panel of students from the newly established Voices of Discovery Program.
