Submitted by Dr. Terri Blackmon
Diveristy Programs Office (DPO) would like to share some information about our events for the beginning of the school year:
- Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) participated in a host of social events promoting diversity and the College of Agriculture. Events included the Activities Carnival, Black Student Union (BSU) Welcome Celebration, Board of Latino Organizations (BOLO) Event and the College of Agriculture Watermelon Feed to spread awareness of the organization. MANRRS held their first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 7. The MANRRS Executive Board would like to thank everyone for their hard-work and dedication, your recruitment efforts were such a success!
- Representatives from Phillips66 will be in town for the celebration of Phillips66 Day. A reception will be held at the Berney Family Welcome Center at 6 p.m. Dr. Pat Bosco and the President of Phillips66, Tim Taylor, will speak at the event. All Project Impact Scholars will be in attendance and MANRRS members are invited to attend.
- The second MANNRS meeting of the year will be held on the same day as the Corporate Showcase, Wednesday, September 21, at 6 p.m. in Waters 137. John Deere, Cargill, ADM, and other corporations will be presenting information on their companies and the types of candidate they are looking to add to their ranks. Please plan to join us!
