Mental Health First Aid for Adults

Submitted by David Key

The Meadowlark Extension District will be hosting a Mental Health First Aid training for Adults on Monday, January 9, 2017 in Seneca at the Meadowlark Extension District Seneca Office, 1500 Community Drive, Seneca KS.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour training course designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual experiencing a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis.

This training is offered by the KANZA Mental Health & Guidance Center, Inc. The Meadowlark District extends a welcome to those interested in learning more about Mental Health First Aid to spend the day with us on January 9th in Seneca! For more information about this course please feel free to contact David Key, District Director, at 785-336-2184 or dkey@ksu.edu.
