Diversity Programs Office Update
The Diversity Programs Office (DPO) in the College of Agriculture is dedicated to providing and promoting leadership opportunities, understanding, goodwill, diversity and friendship among students, staff and faculty in the College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension. Read below to find out more about the activities and events that help us implement the office’s mission:
• The Diversity Programs Office in the College of Agriculture hosted students from Wichita High School Southeast on Wednesday, April 19. The visiting students were greeted by Dr. Blackmon and Dr. Don Boggs before participating in an agriculture focused, jeopardy game, a rose reflex exercise with Dr. Kim Williams from the Horticulture and Natural Resources Department, a tour of the Feed Mill and Extrusion Lab with Dr. Sajid Alavi and Brenda Heptig, and the College for a Day visit wrapped up with closing remarks by Dr. Zelia Wiley, Interim Associate Provost for Diversity.
• The K-State MANRRS Chapter held elections for officers at their general body meeting on Wednesday, April 19. The 2017-2018 K-State MANRRS Executive Board is:
President - Makinsey McIntosh, Junior, Animal Sciences and Industry
Vice President - Dariyan Springfield, Sophomore, Animal Sciences and Industry
Secretary - Jessica Keane, Junior, Animal Sciences and Industry
