Diversity Programs Office Update
The Diversity Programs Office (DPO) in the College of Agriculture is dedicated to providing and promoting leadership opportunities, understanding, goodwill, diversity and friendship among students, staff and faculty in the College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension.
Graduation is one of those times where we see the culmination of our efforts yield success. Therefore, I would like to congratulate all of the graduates from this past weekend. That includes those students who we have grown familiar with seeing in the Diversity Programs Office in the College of Agriculture, those students who participated in the MAPS Summer Bridge Program, and Phil LeBlanc, our graduate assistant the past two academic school years. We wish everyone who graduated the best of luck moving forward.
Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Terri Blackmon for serving as the interim diversity programs coordinator this past year, Phil for his work as graduate assistant, and Elisa Trigo and Vi Nguyen for their work as undergraduate assistants. The office had a good year and I thank them for their contributions.
We expect a busy summer and so I ask that you continue to look for more diversity news and events as we continue to advertise. We appreciate your support. For more information about upcoming events or to collaborate with the DPO, please call 785-532-5793 or contact Dr. Zelia Wiley, Interim Associate Provost of Diversity, zwiley@ksu.edu.
