Grant Writing Workshops for Extension Agents
Soliciting external funds has become more important to Extension agents each year. Pursuing grants is one of the common processes that can be used to solicit funding to help with Extension programming. Writing grants tends to be a technical writing experience and there are many common proposal attributes among funding organizations. Learning about these traits can assist the beginning grant writer in securing one of their first successful grant awards.
To help those that haven’t had much experience in grant proposal preparation, there will be four training workshops across Kansas. These workshops will include topics such as developing a focused need, finding supporting data for the proposal, elements of a successful grant, where to find grants and the construction of a supporting budget. Attendees will be asked to do some homework ahead of time on a potential opportunity for a proposal.
We hope to see you there!
