Diversity Programs Update

Submitted by Zelia Wiley

It is hoped you have had a productive semester and are ready for the holiday season. We would like to be made aware of upcoming opportunities as you complete the last week of the semester.

• This semester we have 31 multicultural graduates from the College of Agriculture. That is 14% of the fall graduating class. Congratulations and well wishes to all of our graduates!
• As you prepare for finals please remember to take advantage of your resources. Utilize the Diversity Programs Office and similar places on campus to ensure your productivity during this time.
• Study Hall with the DPO was a success. Thank you to our sponsors, Cargill and CHS.
• Please mark your calendars for the 14th annual College of Agriculture Diversity Student Leader Luncheon, which will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 this year. Our reception speaker will be Kevin Burnett, Retired Lucent Technologies, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Richardson/ Plano (TX) Guide Right Foundation. The reception is co-sponsored by Cargill, College of Agriculture and the Office of Diversity. It is hosted by K-State Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS), Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the College of Agriculture Diversity Programs Office.

Thanks to everyone in the College of Agriculture and KSRE for your support!! Please continue to look for more diversity events. For more information about upcoming events or to collaborate with the DPO, please contact Dr. Zelia Wiley at 785-532-5793 or by email at zwiley@ksu.edu.

Happy Holidays!!!
