The objectives of the workshops are to introduce people to smoke related air quality issues, update regulation trends, and provide science-based information that help people understand and implement smoke management plans.
Dr. Zifei Liu from K-State‘s Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering has been conducting research on smoke impact of rangeland burning since 2014, and has been providing annual smoke management workshops on K-State campus since 2015. The focus of this year’s workshop will be developing strategies for smoke management under new US ozone and PM standards. Dr. Liu will provide an updated analysis on relationship between fire activities and daily ozone and PM concentrations.
The content of the two workshops will be similar, and you may choose to attend one based on your schedule.
To enroll for this free workshop or for more information, please email zifeiliu@ksu.edu with your name and contact information, and which workshop (Emporia or Manhattan) you plan to attend.
Please feel free to invite any person who may be interested in attending.
