Master of Agribusiness Program Selected as a Standout Exhibitor at International Tradeshow

Submitted by Mary Bowen

The Master of Agribusiness (MAB) program’s participation in the Veterinary Meeting Expo (VMX) in Orlando, FL, was an award-winning experience for Kansas State University. Booths at the expo were evaluated by a team from Competitive Edge for exhibiting effectiveness, and as part of that evaluation, the MAB program was selected as one of 24 standout exhibitors out of more than 700 vendors at VMX.

“The Kansas State University Master of Agribusiness booth was attention grabbing, aesthetically pleasing and welcoming. We are very proud to have your company be a part of the VMX Expo Hall and for engaging our attendees,” Emily Hodgson, VMX Expo Operations and Relations Manager said. “We are excited to announce the MAB program has been selected as one of our standout exhibitors at VMX 2019!”

Although, the MAB booth is one of the smaller, less flashy booths at the trade show, Program Coordinator Deborah Kohl and Communications and Marketing Specialist Mary Bowen, worked hard to make their booth stand out.

“K-State is one of the top agriculture and vet medicine schools, which means there are a lot of alumni in the industry. We want to make sure the booth is easy for K-State students and alumni to find on the show floor to stop and visit,” Bowen said. “We wear purple, give away K-State items and have a life-size cut-out of Willie the Wildcat in the booth for photos.”

It is the strong K-State theme that earned the Master of Agribusiness program its accolade as a standout exhibitor.

“K-State’s Master of Agribusiness booth uses very effective staffing practices,” Hodgson said. “Exhibit staff wore well-branded K-State apparel and displayed very proactive behaviors greeting visitors and used a cut-out of the school mascot to create a bold visual presence.”

The MAB program attends shows like VMX to recruit students and build connections in the food, animal health and agribusiness industries, but also to engage with all K-State students and alumni.

“We invest time and effort into our booth presence because we represent not just the Master of Agribusiness program, but also the entire university each time we put on the purple. We love connecting with students and alumni from across the K-State system, and want them to be proud to stop by the booth,” Kohl shared.

The MAB program exhibits at several food, animal health and agribusiness industry trade shows each year. Learn more about K-State’s Master of Agribusiness program at https://mab.k-state.edu/.
