Teach the Teacher: FireWorks

Submitted by Lori Bammerlin

FireWorks in the Great Plains!

Be one of the first educators in the state to get the NEW FireWorks Curriculum, a STEM based unit of study that engages students in understanding the science of fire and its role in the prairie ecosystem. This hands-on and engaging professional development opportunity is aligned with science standards and provides opportunities to engage students in phenomena-based learning. Appropriate for Middle and High School teachers and educators, please share with local teachers.

Join us on August 1, at Acorns Resort in Milford, KS. Registration is just $125 which includes one graduate credit, covers the workshop, curriculum materials, meals and overnight lodging for those who come in on July 31.

This workshop is generously underwritten by the Great Plains Fire Science Exchange who will be offering $75 scholarships as well. Application form: https://forms.gle/nwrokrUyZA71P9vb6.
